sive et melius Pachynum, unum ex tribus Siciliae promontoriis, Peloponnesum spectans, abaeris crassitudine, ut vulgo creditur, nomen habens. Nam παχὺ, pingue et crassum sonat. Bochart. vero l. 1. Pachynus enien turrim habet speculam in mare preminentem, uti loquitur Fazellus, Dec. l. 5. c. 1.
